The Founder's Story
Shanna, the visionary behind SeAccess, embarked on her journey with a profound connection to the water through sailing on a tall ship during an eastern seaboard transit. Her career, initially rooted in social work in the field of mental health, evolved as she completed her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy at the University of Michigan.During a 14-week pilot study on an Adaptive Sailing Program in Baltimore, MD, Shanna applied her skills in task analysis and environmental modification. The result was the creation of the SeAccess Autonomy Concept Dock — a testament to her commitment to empowering individuals through innovative solutions.At SeAccess, we don't just facilitate sailing; we enable autonomy, create opportunities, and enrich lives.
